During the September 26 screening, Curry, 79, addressed the audience from his wheelchair and recounted the day of his stroke. “I was having a massage at the time and I didn’t even actually notice anything,” Curry explained, attributing his timely medical attention to the masseur who suspected something was wrong and insisted on calling an ambulance. Despite his initial skepticism, Curry acknowledged the importance of that crucial decision.

The star received a standing ovation from fans and was joined on stage by original cast members Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn, and Nell Campbell. Curry played the unforgettable role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” marking his transition from stage to screen.
