Max Verstappen Triumphs in GT3 Debut at Nürburgring Nordschleife

Verstappen’s Stellar Start in Endurance Racing

Max Verstappen showcased his versatility as a motorsport icon by securing a victory on his GT3 race debut at the renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife. This achievement marks another milestone for the Dutch driver as he expands into endurance racing. Competing alongside teammate Chris Lulham, Verstappen emerged victorious in the ninth round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS).

Top Performance in an Intense Race

Verstappen and Lulham participated in the challenging four-hour race, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 emblazoned with the Verstappen.com and Red Bull colors. Managed by Swiss team Emil Frey Racing, the duo outpaced a competitive field of 110 cars, which included 10 entrants in the fastest category, SP9.

Victory Highlights and Key Factors

After starting in third position, Verstappen quickly took the lead, expressing his satisfaction with the result: “It was great! During my first two stints, the car was amazing. The dry track played to our strengths, and we navigated traffic successfully, avoiding significant mistakes. Winning my debut race here is incredible,” he remarked.

Future Endeavors in Endurance Racing

Looking ahead, Verstappen expressed his aspiration to compete in the 24-hour race at the Nordschleife: “Of course, we really want to race the 24-hour race here. Whether that will happen next year is still uncertain. We need more experience, so we hope to enter more NLS races next year,” he explained.

Return to Formula 1

As Verstappen eyes further success on the endurance circuit, he will soon return to his Formula 1 commitments. The upcoming Singapore Grand Prix will see him aim to close the gap on McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
