Prospect Park Comes Together to Support Young Cancer Warrior

Local Fundraiser in Prospect Park for Lincoln Hanson

Prospect Park, PA – The community united at Richman’s Ice Cream Company on Tuesday for a heartfelt fundraiser dedicated to helping 8-year-old Lincoln Hanson, who is courageously battling leukemia. During a specific three-hour window, twenty percent of sales were pledged to support the Hansons with their mounting medical expenses.

Lincoln Hanson’s Journey: A Tale of Resilience

Diagnosed with cancer at the tender age of three, Lincoln initially went into remission. However, the devastating illness has returned, necessitating further aggressive treatment. His current treatment regimen involves ten days of intensive therapy, and preparations are underway for a second round, during which Lincoln will face hospitalization again.

Emotional Family Messages and Community Support

Heartfelt emotions were expressed by family members during the event. Desiree Hager, Lincoln’s aunt, described the family’s rollercoaster of emotions and the love surrounding Lincoln. “He is so loved. We are just hoping for the best,” she remarked, shedding light on the depth of the community’s affection for her nephew.

Lincoln’s cousin, Jack Hager, shared insights into the young boy’s vibrant personality, mentioning, “He likes to play basketball and Roblox.” His friends highlighted their school absence’s impact, missing his energetic presence and shared interests like sports and Legos.

Community Solidarity and Support for the Hanson Family

  • Twenty percent of ice cream sales were donated to the Hanson family.
  • Community members participated by simply mentioning Lincoln’s name during their purchases.
  • Melanie McHugh emphasized the importance of solidarity, saying, “We grew really close with Lincoln and his family; we just wanted to support them.”

Ways to Support Lincoln’s Fight Against Leukemia

The community has shown incredible solidarity, but there is still a way for others to help. Donations are being accepted on Lincoln’s GoFundMe page for those who wish to contribute to his ongoing battle against cancer.
