Pass Budget Now: Coalition Urges Pennsylvania Leaders to Resolve Budget Impasse

As Pennsylvania’s budget standoff enters its fourth month, the Coalition of Critical Services Providers is calling upon Governor Shapiro and the Pennsylvania General Assembly to finalize a budget that invests in health and human services. The Coalition warns of a looming crisis, emphasizing that without immediate action, there may soon be insufficient providers to care for the state’s most vulnerable populations.

Press Conference Aims to Rally Support

In a bid to garner support, the Coalition will host a press conference on Thursday, October 2, at 9:00 am in the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg. The event will feature speeches from RCPA staff, Coalition members, and other organizations, urging a swift resolution to the budget impasse to safeguard essential services across Pennsylvania.

Impact of the Budget Impasse

  • The budget delay affects children, families, older adults, and service provider employees.
  • Counties and organizations are struggling due to a lack of funding.
  • There is an increasing threat to the security and well-being of Pennsylvanians.

The Coalition has conducted a survey across all 67 counties, highlighting the significant impacts of the ongoing budget crisis on essential services. These findings will be shared at the upcoming press conference.
