In a thrilling Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 volleyball match held at McElrath Gymnasium, the Fredonia Hillbillies emerged victorious against the Jamestown Red & Green with a score of 22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22. Star player Londyn Wilmot delivered an impressive performance, recording 14 kills, four aces, and two blocks.

Supporting Wilmot’s strong showing were several key players. Elly Saunders contributed two kills, 11 aces, and four digs, while Alyse Bugaj provided 19 assists along with three kills and four digs. The match was part of the team’s Pink Out Night, emphasizing awareness and support for breast cancer.

Jamestown’s Efforts Fall Short in Volleyball Match

For the Red & Green, despite the defeat, outstanding contributions were made by Remy Anderson, who had four kills, an assist, two blocks, and an ace. AJ Spitzer added five kills, seven digs, and a block, while Abby Vogan came through with 14 digs and four aces. Jamestown did secure a victory in the junior varsity matchup, showcasing their developing talent.

In another exciting Division 1 matchup, Falconer defeated Southwestern decisively with scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-14. Mylie and Emily Zaranek were standout performers, both notching 11 kills each.
