The Minot State men’s and women’s golf teams showcased their skills during the 5th Annual Marauders Tournament held on September 30 at Hawktree Golf Course. The two-day event brought together top collegiate talent, and the Beavers delivered commendable performances, making their mark in the competitive field.
Men’s Golf Team Finishes Strong
The Minot State men’s golf team concluded the tournament with a sixth-place finish, ending with a team score of 37-over par. Freshman Kasen Rostad led the Beavers with a commendable performance, achieving a two-day total of 5-over par, which earned him a tie for 10th place individually.

- Zach Hendrickson: 7-over par (Tied for 14th)
- Gunther Soltvedt: 10-over par (Tied for 26th)
- Max Karnik: 18-over par (Tied for 52nd)

- Fischer Johnson: 24-over par (68th)
Reflecting on his performance, Rostad stated, “It was a battle, but I’m happy with the way I finished. It’s a good start, and as a team, we’d like to improve in the standings. Golf is a team sport at the end of the day.” Augustana College claimed the men’s team title with an impressive score of 14-over par.
Women’s Golf Team Shines with Strong Performances
The Minot State women’s golf team made a significant impact by securing a third-place finish overall, finishing with a team total of 139-over par. Senior Zoe Banak led the way for the Beavers, tying for third individually with a score of 15-over par.

- Micaela Resler: 72-over par (17th)

In her post-tournament remarks, Banak expressed her excitement, saying, “It feels really good; I’m glad I could finally showcase my skills. My parents were here this weekend, so it’s great they got to see me play good golf.” The University of Jamestown secured the women’s team title with a total of 84-over par.
Upcoming Competitions for Minot State Golf Teams
Following the successful outing at the Marauders Tournament, both Minot State teams are gearing up for their next challenge. They will travel to Larchwood, Iowa, to compete in the USF Fall Invitational at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort on October 13th and 14th. This upcoming event promises to provide another opportunity for the Beavers to demonstrate their abilities and improve their standings in collegiate golf.
