As the shoulder season at Ocean City’s beaches carries on, music aficionados are in for another treat. Following last week’s successful Oceans Calling festival, the Ocean City Inlet is set to welcome a new wave of music lovers for the second annual Country Calling festival. Scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday, October 3-5, this event promises to be a mega-festival with over three dozen performers and tens of thousands of attendees.

Country Music Stars Shine in Ocean City

The festival lineup is a blend of country music elite. Friday night will feature Carrie Underwood and Brooks & Dunn as co-headliners, following performances by Leann Rimes, Tyler Hubbard, and more. Saturday’s stage will be graced by Luke Bryan, with supporting acts including Wynonna Judd, Gretchen Wilson, and Delmarva’s own Jimmy Charles. The festival will conclude on Sunday with a performance by Luke Combs, in addition to sets by artists like Margo Price and Ryan Bingham & the Texas Gentlemen. Limited tickets are still available, offering varying prices and packages for attendees.

Ocean City Celebrates 150 Years

In other local entertainment news, Ocean City is preparing for a major milestone celebration. The Town of Ocean City 150th Anniversary Gala will occur at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center on Friday, December 12. The event will feature seven themed rooms showcasing music, food, and a pictorial history of the area. Milton Theatre Embraces Fall with Comedy

Meanwhile, in coastal Sussex County, the Milton Theatre is ready to celebrate the fall season with a comedic twist. “Pumpkin Spice & Punchlines: A Fall Flavored Comedy” will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, featuring a lineup of stand-up comedians. Hosted by Keith Purnell, the show will include performances by John Kensil, Nancy Burkett, and nationally-renowned comedian The Legendary Wid. Tickets for the comedy show range from $15 to $22.

The Listening Booth’s Packed Fall Concert Schedule

The Listening Booth, located southbound on Route 1 at Midway, is hosting a flurry of fall concerts featuring original music by both local and touring artists. Acoustic singer-songwriter Richard Shindell is set to perform on Friday, October 3, preceded by an opening set from Jillian Matundan at 7 p.m. ($35 per ticket). The following day, local favorites the Fitzkee Brothers, with special guest vocalist Melody Trucks, will headline a rock show on Saturday, October 4, with the Jonathan Sloane Trio opening at 7 p.m. ($25 per ticket).
