The Wyoming Seminary girls tennis team has secured a spot in the upcoming District 2 Class 2A semifinals. In an impressive performance on Friday afternoon, the Blue Knights overcame Holy Cross with a 3-0 victory in the quarterfinals.

Lizzie Weaver led the team at No. 3 singles with a commanding win, while the doubles teams showcased their skills. Kate Minella and Jophie Li, alongside Elisabeth Moules and Kim Li, dominated their matches, dropping only two games combined. Although Addison Priebe and Cece Pons were mid-match, leading when they were halted, their strong starts demonstrated the team’s overall prowess.

As the No. 2 seed, Wyoming Seminary is scheduled to face No. 6 Berwick on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Kirby Park. This encounter is anticipated to be a thrilling contest.

Montrose Reaches District 2 Class 2A Semifinals for the First Time

In a historic achievement, the Montrose girls tennis team advanced to the District 2 Class 2A semifinals by defeating Dallas 3-0. Cara Evans and Anna Evans succeeded at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The doubles team of Harleigh Smith and Anna Tillotson secured a victory in their match, paving the way for Montrose to make their first semifinal appearance.

No. 4 seed Montrose will challenge the top seed, Scranton Prep, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Kirby Park. This upcoming showdown is expected to test Montrose’s mettle against a strong opponent.

Boys Soccer: Dallas Secures WVC Division 1 Victory

In boys soccer action, Dallas emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Valley West at Spartan Stadium. Contributing to the team’s success, Kevin Osipower, Chase Harris, and Trevor Williams each scored for Dallas. Abe Hobson-Tomascik provided an assist, amplifying the team’s offensive efforts. Noah Fetko delivered the sole goal for Valley West, assisted by Luke Ginochetti.

The Mountaineers controlled the game with eight shots and two corners, while Valley West recorded 12 shots and six corners. Goalkeeper Miller made 11 saves for Dallas, securing their triumph.

Girls Soccer: Valley West and Berwick Draw in Overtime

In a gripping encounter at Spartan Stadium on Thursday, Valley West and Berwick ended their match in a scoreless tie despite a combined 40 shots from both teams. Elizabeth Rose guarded the Berwick goal with 16 saves, while Grace Lopez recorded 13 saves for Valley West. The close contest reflected the determination of both sides.

Girls Volleyball: Valley West and Dallas Dominate in Matches

Valley West overpowered Hanover Area in a sweeping victory, winning 25-18, 25-6, 25-15. Adyson Yeager led Valley West with five kills, while Keira Thompson and Amanda MacLunny made significant contributions for Hanover despite the loss.

In another matchup, Dallas also achieved a convincing three-set sweep against Hanover Area, with scores of 25-10, 25-9, 25-11. Aviana Rivera and Ilyssa Rinehimer played key roles for Hanover, showcasing resilience amid tough competition.
