The recent software update was driven by the specific needs of clients with open floor plans and larger living rooms, requiring more efficient HVAC performance. Typically, HVAC systems receive updates only when significant hardware or software issues arise. However, Quilt’s team, with experience from tech giants like Google and Apple, leveraged this potential for frequent enhancements. Their system features higher-quality sensors, including precision temperature, current sensors, and additional pressure sensors, setting it apart from standard residential HVAC systems.
Impressive Performance Boost with BTU Enhancement
The upgrade transformed Quilt’s HVAC system, elevating cooling performance from 19,700 BTUs per hour to 24,000 BTUs, and heating from 20,500 BTUs to 24,000 BTUs. This improvement not only enhances energy efficiency but also reduces energy bills, often by 50% or more, while significantly lowering the household’s carbon footprint.
