The Great North Canceled at Fox After Five Seasons: Fans Say Goodbye to Beloved Series

Fox Ends ‘The Great North’ After Five Seasons of Alaskan Adventures
Fox has officially canceled its animated series, “The Great North,” after an entertaining five-season run. The network announced its decision to wrap up the show, coinciding with the absence of the series from Fox’s 2025-26 programming slate, unveiled earlier in May.
Key Players Behind ‘The Great North’
“The Great North” was the creative brainchild of Bob’s Burgers executive producers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Loren Bouchard, an integral force behind Bob’s Burgers, served as an executive producer for the show. The final season concluded in mid-September, leaving fans with cherished memories of the Tobin family’s Alaskan misadventures.
Fox Celebrates a Decade of Laughter
Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, expressed gratitude for the series and its creators. “We’re immensely thankful for everything Wendy, Lizzie, Loren, and the incredible cast and crew contributed to The Great North,” said Thorn, honoring the series’ place in Fox’s iconic Animation Domination lineup.
Unveiling the Tobin Family’s Story
The series focused on the Tobin family’s adventures in Alaska, led by single dad Beef, voiced by Nick Offerman. The storyline followed his efforts to keep his children close, particularly his daughter Judy, played by Jenny Slate, whose artistic aspirations took her beyond the family’s fishing traditions.
- Wolf, Judy’s older brother, voiced by Will Forte, and his wife Honeybee, brought to life by Dulcé Sloan.
- Middle brother Ham, portrayed by Paul Rust.
- The family’s youngest, precocious 10-year-old Moon, represented by Aparna Nancherla.
A Touch of Magic and Community
Though their mother was absent, Judy found guidance from her boss Alyson, voiced by Megan Mullally, and her imaginary friend, Alanis Morissette, who appeared as a unique character amid the Northern Lights. The vivid storytelling and dynamic characters were crafted under the supervision of the Molyneux sisters, who were both executive producers and showrunners. Minty Lewis contributed her writing expertise to the series, a production of 20th Television Animation with animation brought to life by Bento Box Entertainment.
