Live Esports Tournaments Coming to European Cinemas This Fall

Esports Tournaments Set for European Cinematic Experience

Amsterdam-based distributor, Piece of Magic Entertainment (POM), in collaboration with Riot Games, is set to transform the esports viewing experience by bringing two significant tournaments live to cinemas across Europe this fall. This exciting initiative aims to unite esports fans in a dynamic setting, offering an immersive spectacle beyond traditional viewing formats.

Live Screenings of Valorant and League of Legends Finals

Under this partnership, POM will manage live theatrical screenings in nine European territories for the 2025 Valorant Champions Grand Final in Paris on October 5. The excitement continues with the live screening of the League of Legends World Championship Finals in more than 30 European territories on November 9, direct from Chengdu, China. This endeavor marks a significant milestone in enhancing the esports experience for fans globally.

Building on a Legacy of Success

Since their partnership in 2018, POM and Riot Games have been at the forefront of integrating live esports events into cinema culture. “Our longstanding partnership with Riot Games has been instrumental in building esports as a growing category in cinemas,” stated Caspar Nadaud, POM’s founder and CEO. By broadcasting these finals live, they offer fans a unique, communal experience in real-time on the big screen.

Interactive Events and Exclusive Experiences

Apart from screenings, Riot Games and POM plan to hold exclusive flagship events in key regions. These events promise to bring the action off-screen with live celebrations that include:

  • Limited-edition giveaways
  • Cosplay moments
  • Interactive games
  • Photo opportunities

Such events are designed to amplify the energy and engagement of the tournaments, providing fans with a holistic esports experience.
