Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson Announce Exciting Rush Tour for 2026 Fans Eagerly Anticipate

Rush Returns for 50th Anniversary Tour in Memory of Neil Peart

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson Embark on Commemorative Tour

Legendary rock band Rush, founded by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, has announced a return to the stage next year with a special 50th anniversary tour. This tour commemorates their late bandmate Neil Peart. The 12-date, seven-city “Fifty Something” tour will begin on June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles—where Rush last performed with Peart in 2015.

Anika Nilles Joins as New Drummer

Joining Lee and Lifeson is German drummer Anika Nilles, known for her previous work with Jeff Beck. At 41, Nilles is celebrated for her expertise with the complex time signatures that Rush is famed for. Her addition is seen as a pivotal moment for the band, which has been grappling with the void left by Peart.

Endorsement from Peart’s Family

Peart’s widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter, Olivia, have wholeheartedly endorsed the tour. In a joint statement, they expressed their excitement for the “Fifty Something” tour, emphasizing Neil’s enduring influence and remarkable legacy.

Expanding the Rush Sound

Rush plans to further enrich the concert experience by collaborating with additional backing musicians. Geddy Lee previously juggled keyboards and bass while singing, and this new approach promises to ease the workload and amplify the band’s signature sound. Lee noted that this strategy is designed to make touring “more fun, less work,” given their seasoned status.

Tour Schedule and Ticket Information

The tour schedule promises a dynamic selection of songs from a catalog of 35 tracks, showcasing fan favorites and chart-toppers. This announcement coincides with the release of “Rush 50,” a comprehensive 50-track anthology celebrating their storied career. Fans eager to secure tickets can participate in artist presales starting October 13, with general sales beginning on October 17.
