Thomas Skinner Reflects on Strictly Come Dancing Exit and Newfound Love for Dance

Thomas Skinner Discusses His Strictly Come Dancing Journey

Thomas Skinner, well-known for his stint on The Apprentice and as a social media personality, recently opened up following his departure from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. The former reality star and his professional dance partner, Amy Dowden, were the first to be eliminated this season after their salsa performance to “Bonkers” by Dizzee Rascal and Armand van Helden failed to impress the judges.

‘I Move Like a Fridge’: Skinner’s Honest Assessment

Appearing on the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, Skinner candidly admitted, “I know I’m not the best dancer, but we had such a laugh out there.” He humorously described his dancing style, stating, “I move like a fridge,” and acknowledged his effort, “I was trying but I weren’t good enough.” Despite the early exit, Skinner expressed gratitude for the experience and formed a close bond with his dance partner, saying, “I’m lucky to meet Amy. I’ve got a new friend. My family loves her, and it’s been a great experience; it’s been good fun.”

Amy Dowden Praises Skinner’s Dedication

Welsh dancer Amy Dowden, also expressed her admiration for Skinner’s dedication, noting his journey from a beginner to performing on the dancefloor. “I am so impressed. The performances you pulled out both Saturdays were remarkable, and I saw development from day one,” Dowden shared. She added, “He worked so hard, and we had so much fun.”

The Judges’ Verdict and Skinner’s Scores

Skinner wrapped up his time on the show with a combined score of 29 over the first two weeks. Judge Craig Revel Horwood offered a humorous critique of Skinner’s performance, likening it to a weightlifting competition. Prior to the show, Skinner made headlines for personal reasons, which included a controversial admission in an interview.
