The event is designed to accommodate travelers in Northeast Mississippi and West Alabama, offering a more accessible option compared to the nearest centers located in Birmingham and Jackson. Matt Dowell, Executive Director of GTRA, emphasized the convenience of the event in a recent press release, stating the benefits of local access to the TSA PreCheck program.

Benefits of TSA PreCheck

Enrollees in the TSA PreCheck program enjoy expedited security screening at over 180 airports nationwide. They benefit from not having to remove laptops and other large electronics, 3-1-1 liquids, belts, shoes, and jackets during the security check.

Enrollment Process and Requirements

The program requires a $78 enrollment fee, which offers a five-year membership. The application process is straightforward and takes about 10 minutes to complete in person at the airport, where applicants will undergo fingerprinting for a background check. Successful applicants will receive notification of their enrollment within 30 days and be assigned a Known Traveler Number (KTN).

  • Application: 10 minutes in-person process
  • Fee: $78 for five years
  • Notification: Within 30 days

The KTN, integrated into boarding pass barcodes, can then be used with travel companies and airlines for quicker airport security check-ins. To schedule your PreCheck enrollment, visit Emegypt and click on the PreCheck banner. Appointments are recommended for priority processing over walk-ins.
