Dolly Parton Shares Health Update Following Sister’s Request for Prayers

Dolly Parton Calms Fans Amid Health Concerns: “I Ain’t Dead Yet!”
Dolly Parton Addresses Health Rumors
In response to swirling rumors about her health, music legend Dolly Parton took to Instagram to assure her fans that she’s in good spirits. This came after her sister’s public request for prayers that caused a stir among her fanbase. “I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,” Parton said in a light-hearted video, captioned provocatively, “I ain’t dead yet!”
Setting the Record Straight
Filmed on October 8, the video featured Parton in between her busy schedule. She addressed her followers directly, stating, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!” She clarified that although she has some health issues to manage and is undergoing treatments, she is generally okay. “Those of you that seem to be real concerned,” she continued, “I want to put everybody’s mind at ease.”
Life After Loss: Personal Challenges
Parton shared that the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this year had taken a toll on her, leading her to neglect her health. Upon consulting her doctor, she was advised to take care of some health matters, which required her to cancel several engagements to stay closer to home. “Nothing major,” she assured, but necessary nonetheless.
Sister Freida Parton’s Plea for Prayers
The need for reassurance was partly fueled by an emotional social media post from Freida Parton. On October 7, she rallied the “prayer warriors” to pray for Dolly, expressing her belief in the power of communal prayers. “She’s strong, she’s loved,” Freida wrote, “and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine.”
Concert Postponements Explained
Previously in September, Dolly Parton had announced the postponement of her Las Vegas concerts due to health challenges requiring a few medical procedures. “I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see,” she explained to fans, emphasizing her dedication to delivering top-notch performances.
While these developments will keep her away from the stage for a while, Parton confirmed that she’ll continue working on projects from her Nashville home. “I just need a little time to get show ready,” she added, reassuring fans of her return.
