Anticipation Builds as Eversource Hartford Marathon Approaches
The Eversource Hartford Marathon is poised to take center stage in Connecticut on Saturday, drawing nearly 10,000 enthusiastic participants. Kicking off near the state capitol and concluding in scenic Bushnell Park, this popular event promises a memorable experience for all involved.
Registration and Packet Pickup Information
All race slots, including the marathon, half marathon, team 26.2 relay, and the charity 5K, have been filled, as registration closed on Wednesday. Participants must collect their race bibs and t-shirts at the Race Expo located at the Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford. The expo will be open on October 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on October 10 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Race Day Schedule and Start Times
The marathon begins with wheelchair athletes in both the marathon and half marathon categories starting at 7:55 a.m. on Capitol Avenue, right in front of the State Capitol Building. Subsequently, the marathon, half marathon, and team 26.2 relay all start at 8 a.m. Meanwhile, participants in the charity 5K will begin at 8:01 a.m. on a section of Capitol Avenue east of the Bushnell Theater. The Hartford Marathon Foundation Kids Fun Run is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Elm and West Streets.

For those unable to attend in person, Emegypt will provide a live stream of the finish line. Coverage will be available on WWAX and WFSB+ from 7:30 a.m. to noon on October 11, 2025. Be sure to tune in for uninterrupted coverage of the event’s climactic moments.
Road Closures and Traffic Advisory
To ensure safety and smooth operation of the marathon, several streets in Hartford, West Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, highway exits on both sides of I-84, I-91, and the westbound Route 2 will be temporarily shut down. Post-Race Celebrations at Bushnell Park
Participants are invited to gather in Bushnell Park for post-race celebrations, which will feature vendors, food, and live music on the “Powerstation Events Bushnell Park” stage. A beer garden offering brews from Urban Lodge Brewing will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Race participants aged 21 and over can enjoy a complimentary beer upon presentation of a valid photo ID.
