Exciting Developments in Detroit: Hudson’s New Landmark

General Motors Sign Shines Bright on Hudson’s Detroit

The newly redeveloped Hudson’s site in Detroit has taken a significant step forward as crews finalize the installation of a striking 20-foot General Motors sign. This new addition was completed overnight, marking a major development milestone. The revamped site, located in the heart of Detroit, is poised to welcome employees from General Motors and various other companies. This site is not only a business hub but also a celebration of Detroit’s rich history.

Modern Office Space and Retail Expansion at Hudson’s Detroit

The redeveloped Hudson’s building boasts over 400,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office spaces. With an array of shopping choices, the site is set to become a premier retail destination. Currently, wellness apparel brand ALO is open, with modern Western outfitter Tecovas set to debut on Friday, October 10. Additional retailers are on the way, joining prominent brands such as Apple, Shinola, Lululemon, Nike, Savage X Fenty, H&M, and The Lip Bar along the Woodward corridor.

Innovative Office Amenities

Inside the office spaces, employees can enjoy a seven-story atrium bathed in natural light, accentuated by abundant live plants and a skylight inspired by a 1954 Corvette’s headlight cover. The building’s amenities are tailored to enhance work-life balance, featuring:

  • A café offering convenient grab-and-go meals
  • A well-equipped fitness center
  • A versatile “Rec Room” with a pickleball court and sports simulator
  • Numerous meeting spaces

Future Developments: The Detroit EDITION and More

Looking ahead, the iconic 685-foot tower on the property is slated for completion in 2027. This ambitious project will introduce The Detroit EDITION hotel, high-end condos known as The Residences at The Detroit EDITION, and a variety of dining options. This development represents the final touch of a monumental 1.5-million-square-foot project, transforming the core of Detroit.

Introducing Nick Gilbert Way: Detroit’s Vibrant New Public Plaza

Opening on Thursday, November 6, the new public plaza named Nick Gilbert Way creates a dynamic connection between Woodward Avenue and Farmer Street at Hudson’s Detroit. Named in honor of the late son of Dan and Jennifer Gilbert, the plaza will serve as a vibrant gathering space. Planned seasonal programming will offer live music, art displays, retail pop-ups, and diverse experiences, starting with Hudson’s festive holiday events. Enhancing the plaza’s atmosphere, Un Deux Trois, a French-style coffee truck from Café Sous Terre in Midtown, will serve pastries, espresso drinks, and coffee seven days a week.
