Amanda Holden Reveals Medical Emergency Following Unexpected Home Incident and Injury

Amanda Holden Experiences Unexpected Cat Incident Leading to Medical Attention
Amanda Holden’s Home Incident Leaves Her Injured
Amanda Holden, the renowned presenter of The Inner Circle and a familiar face on Britain’s Got Talent, recently found herself at the center of an unexpected home incident. The 54-year-old broadcaster suffered a “swollen and infected” hand while trying to mediate a conflict between her 15-year-old moggy, Muffy, and a new rescue cat from Corfu.
Radio Appearance Brings Alarming Update
Returning to Heart Radio alongside co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda revealed the details of the encounter. After the show’s opening, Jamie explained to listeners about the overnight emergency. Amanda recounted, “Oh my gosh, well, I’ve been attacked by my own cat, not my rescue [cat], who is very sweet and is trying to be subservient with our Princess who is 15, [but] she is absolutely not having it.”
Health Concerns and Medical Response
The altercation resulted in Amanda’s wrist doubling in size, turning red hot, and she also experienced a massive headache, making it hard for her to “string a sentence together.” Despite her symptoms, she was uncertain if they were directly related to the bite. Amanda expressed her frustration, “I need a tetanus jab for sure. I can’t move my hand.” A doctor was called into the studio to examine her condition.
Prescribed Treatment and Recovery
After being assessed by a medical professional, Amanda shared her treatment plan with listeners. The doctor prescribed two sets of antibiotics to address the potential bacterial infection, noting that “cats are full of horrible bacteria.” Amanda humorously mentioned her husband Chris Hughes’ reaction, sharing his light-hearted text: “I’ve really milked my cat bite this morning.” Despite the jest, Amanda emphasized the seriousness of her injury.
