Tragic Incident at Anini Beach as Visitor Loses Life

Around 3 p.m., first responders were dispatched to Anini Beach Park after reports of a swimmer experiencing distress. The swimmer, identified as Todd Wilt, a 61-year-old from California, was struggling in the water. Lifeguards managed to assist him to shore, where he collapsed.
Efforts to Save the Victim
The Ocean Safety Bureau lifeguards immediately began CPR. Medics transported Wilt to Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, despite continued life-saving measures, Wilt was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
