In the Baycurrent Classic held in Yokohama, Japan, Xander Schauffele and Max Greyserman emerged as co-leaders after the third round. Both players finished the day with impressive scores, marking their totals at 12-under 201.

Xander Schauffele’s Performance

Xander Schauffele carded a 67 despite challenging weather conditions. The renowned golfer holds a substantial resume, including two major championships and a gold medal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Winning the tournament would hold special significance for him, as his mother was born in Taiwan but raised in Japan. He expressed his hopes, stating, “It would be incredible to win here with my grandparents and family around.”

Max Greyserman’s Journey

Max Greyserman ended Saturday’s round with an even-par 71. This marks his second consecutive year at the top of the leaderboard, as he finished second in this event last year. He acknowledged the pressure of sharing the lead, commenting on the difficulty of competing under tough conditions. “I wasn’t able to adapt well today, but tomorrow is a new day,” he stated.

Chasing the Leaders

Five golfers remain in contention, trailing by three strokes heading into the final round:

About the Baycurrent Classic

This tournament is unique as it is the sole PGA Tour event held in Japan. The location was shifted to Yokohama this year after previously being hosted east of Tokyo. Originally established in 2019, the inaugural event was claimed by none other than Tiger Woods.
