Eight individuals of Punjabi descent have been apprehended in Canada, linked to a substantial mail theft operation involving $400,000. The suspects, residing in Mississauga and Brampton, allegedly engaged in stealing credit cards, IDs, and gift cards from mailboxes.

A joint investigation, dubbed “Operation Undeliverable,” was initiated by the police in collaboration with Canada Post. This operation was launched following numerous reports of mail thefts across Halton and Peel Regions.

The Investigation and Arrest
Search warrants were executed on September 8 and 9 at various locations within Mississauga. Specific areas targeted included Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive.
The confiscated loot comprised over 450 pieces of mail. This included 255 checks, 182 credit cards, 35 government IDs, and 20 gift cards.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
The Peel Regional Police are liaising with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency. The objective is to ascertain if deportation proceedings will be necessary for any of the accused foreign nationals.
