Police Report: Two Stabbed at Switzer Learning Center in Torrance

A former student was arrested after a stabbing incident at Switzer Learning Center in Torrance. The incident occurred on Monday morning, resulting in three staff members being injured.

Incident Details

The Switzer Learning Center, a nonpublic school for students with learning differences, became the scene of violence when a former student attacked staff members. Two victims sustained critical injuries and were taken to the hospital, while a third received on-site medical care from the Torrance Fire Department.

Police and Emergency Response

The suspect attempted to harm a fourth staff member before escaping. Following the attack, Torrance Police apprehended the suspect without further incident. Authorities discovered a backpack and knife near the school premises.

Bomb Threat Investigation

During arrest, the suspect claimed to have placed two pipe bombs near 208 Street and Amapola Avenue. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was deployed to inspect the area. As of 10:30 a.m., no explosive devices were found.
