Falcons Exclude WR Darnell Mooney Due to Hamstring Injury Against Bills

The Atlanta Falcons will face the Buffalo Bills without wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury. The team confirmed Mooney’s exclusion for the upcoming “Monday Night Football” match, announced on Saturday.
Darnell Mooney’s Injury Status
This marks Mooney’s second absence this season. He previously injured his hamstring during the Falcons’ Week 4 victory over the Washington Commanders. Atlanta’s bye week followed that game, offering no opportunity for Mooney to return.
Previous Injuries Impacting Mooney
- Mooney also faced a shoulder injury during training camp.
- He was hurt diving for a pass from Michael Penix Jr. on July 24.
- This injury caused him to miss all of training camp and Week 1 of the season.
In total, Mooney has caught seven passes for 79 yards this season. Last year, he recorded 64 receptions for 992 yards and achieved a personal best of five touchdowns.
Falcons’ Receiving Corps Adjustments
With Mooney out, the Falcons are expected to elevate the role of second-year wide receiver Casey Washington. Other notable players in the lineup include Drake London, Ray-Ray McCloud III, and tight end Kyle Pitts.
Defensive Updates
On the defensive side, the Falcons will have cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr. available for the game. Terrell missed the previous matchup due to a hamstring issue but now carries no injury designation heading into Week 6.
