P&O Cruises anchors Britannia in Southampton year-round offering unparalleled voyages
P&O Cruises has announced that its ship Britannia will be based in Southampton year-round, starting with the winter 2027/28 schedule. This marks the ship’s first permanent homeport in Southampton since its debut in 2015.
Exciting New Itineraries for Britannia
Following the conclusion of its summer 2027 season, Britannia will offer diverse voyages to destinations such as the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Atlantic Islands. Notably, in 2027, Britannia will be succeeded in the Caribbean by the larger Iona, which will operate alongside its sister ship, Arvia. Both will introduce fly-cruises in the region.
- 14-night cruises from Barbados, Antigua, and St Kitts will be available from October 2027 until April 2028.
- Arcadia and Aurora will operate itineraries to the North Cape, the Baltics, and Western Europe during winter 2027/28.
World Cruises and Special Offers
The winter 2027/28 program features special cruises including:
- Arcadia embarking on a 124-night world cruise on January 6, 2028, with stops in Tokyo, Laem Chabang (for Bangkok), and Male (for Maldives).
- Aurora setting sail for a 75-night Grand Tour to South America in 2028, visiting Brazil and Chile.
- A seven-night New Year’s Eve cruise to Scandinavia on Ventura.
- Azura continuing operations with Canary Islands fly-cruises, including calls in Madeira and Morocco.
P&O Cruises’ Associate Vice President for Sales & Distribution, Ruth Venn, expressed enthusiasm about the new offerings. She highlighted the program’s variety, saying it will provide families and travelers with exciting holiday options, from Japan to Hawaii.

Pre-registration for the upcoming itineraries is open until 8 PM on October 20, with general sales commencing on October 22. Customers who book trips by December 17, 2025, can enjoy several early bird benefits:
