LoL Update: Disguised Secures Their Position in the LCS

Disguised has solidified its position in the League Championship Series (LCS) after a triumphant victory in the promotion tournament. On Sunday, Disguised, known as DSG, took down Luminosity Gaming in the grand final with a 3-1 scoreline. This event took place at Riot Games’ studios in Mexico City, although there was no live audience present.
Promotion Tournament Highlights
The promotion tournament marked a crucial step for Disguised as they aimed to secure their spot in the 2026 season of North America’s premier League of Legends competition. Just four days prior, they had already defeated Luminosity Gaming decisively, achieving a 3-0 victory in the upper bracket final.
Performance Overview
- Grand Final Result: DSG 3 – Luminosity Gaming 1
- Upper Bracket Final Result: DSG 3 – Luminosity Gaming 0
Despite a challenging 2025 season where DSG struggled, this final victory was a much-needed boost for the team. They finished at the bottom of the standings in the first two splits and placed 5th–6th after their playoff exit against Cloud9.
Roster Changes and Key Players
In preparation for the promotion tournament, Disguised made significant roster changes. They welcomed midlaner Isaac “DARKWINGS” Cho, a seasoned player in the North American Tier 2 scene, and South Korean AD Carry Cho “Rahel” Min-seong, who was previously released from SK Gaming. Rahel’s performance in the final was particularly impressive, with a combined KDA of 16/3/11 in the last two games.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Disguised’s victory not only secures their position in the LCS but also impacts the league’s landscape for 2026. Following 100 Thieves’ exit from competitive League of Legends earlier this year, Sentinels will take their place in the league. This transition has implications for the structure of franchise leagues, as a broader experiment with inviting top Tier 2 teams is planned.
Upcoming League Changes
- Teams: Sentinels replaces 100 Thieves in the LCS.
- Innovation: The LEC will incorporate Tier 2 teams in a new winter tournament.
As Disguised prepares for the upcoming season, the evolving dynamics of the league promise exciting opportunities for both teams and fans alike.
