Deng Chol Majek, a Sudanese national claiming to be 19 years old, stands accused of stabbing Rhiannon Skye Whyte 23 times with a screwdriver.

The incident occurred on October 20, 2022, at Bescot Stadium railway station in Walsall, West Midlands. Prosecutor Michelle Heeley KC provided chilling details during the murder trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
- Majek allegedly followed Ms. Whyte from the Park Inn hotel, where he was staying.

 - Ms. Whyte worked at the hotel for about three months, engaging in cleaning and food service duties.
 
CCTV Evidence
CCTV footage played a crucial role in the investigation. It showed Majek closely tracking Ms. Whyte as she left the hotel and made her way to the train platform. He changed his clothing to a distinctive jacket and sandals while lingering in the reception area.
The Attack
Ms. Heeley recounted the horrific details of the attack. After following Ms. Whyte onto the platform, Majek reportedly stabbed her numerous times, mainly targeting her head. Witnesses heard her screams during a phone call to a friend, which abruptly ended.
The Aftermath
Shortly after the assault, a train guard discovered Ms. Whyte on the platform. Despite efforts to assist her, she succumbed to her injuries three days later in the hospital, surrounded by her family.
Majek’s Actions Post-Attack
Following the attack, Majek allegedly purchased a drink at a nearby shop. He discarded Ms. Whyte’s phone into a river and returned to the hotel, where witnesses reported seeing him dancing and laughing, seemingly unfazed by the crime.
