The Game Unfolds

The first round saw Fluitt trailing behind Hill, who had the early lead. Fluitt made a strategic comeback with a correct answer on a Daily Double, temporarily taking the lead with $5,000. However, a series of incorrect responses put her back in second place. A tie later ensued between Hill and Fluitt, each with $5,000, due to Richman’s correct answer.

Double Jeopardy Drama

The competition remained tight throughout Double Jeopardy. Richman attempted to seize the lead with a Daily Double but faltered, falling to $2,400. Hill found the final Daily Double, correctly answering a geographical question to reach $11,600. By the round’s end, Hill led with $12,800, Fluitt had $11,800, and Richman was in third with $5,600.

  • Category: “The Oscars”
  • Clue: “The first 2 actors to refuse their Oscar trophies were in films with scripts that this man co-wrote.”

Hill answered “Ford-Coppola,” adding a hyphen to the director’s name. Despite the grammatical error, the judges accepted her answer. Fluitt and Richman did not provide correct responses, leaving them in second and third places, respectively. Hill’s wager brought her total to $23,601, securing her victory and title as the new champion.

Hill is set to return on Tuesday for another round of Jeopardy.
