Christen Press, renowned for her illustrious soccer career, has declared her retirement effective post the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. At 36, she currently plays as a forward for Angel City FC, joining the Los Angeles team in 2022. Over her journey with Angel City, she has featured in 37 regular-season matches.

Career Achievements

An illustrious figure in women’s soccer, Press is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, clinching titles in 2015 and 2019. Her international career also includes a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 155 appearances representing the U.S. women’s national team, during which she scored 64 goals.

Press returned to Sweden in 2018 for a brief stint with Göteborg before again heading back to the U.S., this time joining Utah Royals, where she amassed 25 appearances between 2018 and 2020.

In 2020, she signed with Manchester United in the Women’s Super League before coming back to her roots to play for Angel City FC. Across her NWSL career, she has secured 49 goals in 122 league matches.

Beyond her sports career, Press gained attention alongside her U.S. teammate and now wife, Tobin Heath, as they both joined Manchester United in 2020.
