New Cinnamon Brands Join Health Alert List Due to High Lead Levels
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded its health alert concerning specific ground cinnamon brands found to contain high lead levels. This move comes after the initial alerts sent out since the summer of 2024, which identified various products posing health risks.
New Cinnamon Brands Added to Health Alert List
As of October 8th, 2025, and onwards, the FDA included new cinnamon brands in their health alert. Notable additions are HAETAE and Roshni ground cinnamon, which have been tested for elevated lead levels. Both brands, however, do not have recalls listed on the FDA’s website.
Additionally, Durra ground cinnamon has prompted a recall from Eureka Inc. USA, while Wise Wife brand has seen a recall initiated by SLR Food Distribution, Inc., despite an earlier voluntary recall in September 2025. The FDA’s alert recommends voluntary recalls, except for the HAETAE-brand, due to difficulties reaching Haitai Inc. USA.
