The event unfolded when an off-duty deputy from Forest County alerted the Dispatch Center. The deputy reported a speeding vehicle traveling north on Highway 55 with a loud exhaust. This incident occurred just after 6:30 a.m.
Law Enforcement Response
A deputy located the vehicle near County Highway S on Highway 55. Upon attempting to intercept, the suspect accelerated further north. Another deputy identified the car still speeding with headlights off. During the chase, one patrol car was disabled after hitting a deer.
