EA makes impactful backend tweaks to Battlefield 6 reducing the power of sniper rifles and shotguns

Battlefield 6 recently received significant backend adjustments, focusing on weapon balancing and gameplay improvements. Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have implemented crucial server-side changes to enhance player experience across platforms. These changes aim to refine weapon dynamics and increase the excitement of gameplay.
Weapon Adjustments in Battlefield 6
Two main weapons, the M2010 ESR and PSR sniper rifles, have seen their muzzle velocities reduced for better balance. The M2010 ESR now fires bullets at 800 meters per second, down from 900 meters per second. Similarly, the PSR’s velocity has decreased to 720 meters per second from the previous 750 meters per second. These changes require players to adjust their aiming strategy for moving targets.
Shotgun Physics Overhaul
Shotgun projectiles have now been adjusted to factor in drag, resulting in a nerf. This adjustment demands players rethink their approach when choosing shotguns in battle.
Gameplay Enhancements
- Increased ticket count for Rush mode maps from 75 to 100 to extend match durations and offer more reinforcement opportunities.
- Addressed a jumping momentum issue with certain weapons, improving movement fluidity across the battlefield.
These changes reflect EA’s commitment to maintaining game balance and enhancing player engagement. As always, players are encouraged to explore these dynamics and adapt their strategies.
