ABB appoints Christian Nilsson as new CFO succeeding Timo Ihamuotila

Christian Nilsson has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of ABB, effective February 1, 2026. He will take over from Timo Ihamuotila, who steps down from the Executive Committee and will leave the company at the end of 2026 to ensure a seamless transition.

Leadership Transition at ABB

Nilsson, 50, brings significant experience from his role as CFO of ABB’s Electrification business. With a career spanning across the United States, Asia, and Europe, he has held leadership roles at DSM-Firmenich in Switzerland and TE Connectivity in China. Nilsson’s educational background includes an MBA in International Finance and a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance.
