Brewers Fan Calls ICE on Latino Dodgers Supporter Leading to Her Job Loss

In an incident at American Family Field, a Latino Los Angeles Dodgers supporter was targeted by a Milwaukee Brewers fan during a National League Championship Series (NLCS) game. Ricardo Fosado, a U.S. Navy veteran, captured the exchange on video, which has since gone viral.

Game Experience Turns Hostile

Fosado attended Game 2 of the NLCS aware he might face hostility as a Dodgers fan in Milwaukee. His excitement peaked when the Dodgers took the lead, prompting cheers that drew the ire of opposing fans.

As the Dodgers led, a Brewers supporter shouted, “You know what, let’s call ICE.” Fosado quickly responded, asserting his citizenship and service in the military. He emphasized that such a remark shifted the excitement of the game to a personal attack.

Consequences for Actions

The fallout from the incident impacted the Brewers fan, identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk. Following the video’s release, she resigned from her role on the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board and was also terminated from her position at ManpowerGroup after an internal investigation.

ManpowerGroup stated, “As soon as we became aware of this video, the individual was placed on immediate leave and we began an investigation. As a result of this process, the employee is no longer with the organization. We remain committed to maintaining a culture grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.”

Fosado’s Reflections

Fosado expressed mixed feelings about the fallout, stating that while he didn’t wish for her to lose her job, actions have consequences. He acknowledged his own involvement, admitting he swore back at the fan before being ejected from the game in the seventh inning. He has since requested a refund for his tickets.

The Milwaukee Brewers have yet to comment on the situation. This incident underscores the importance of sportsmanship and respectful behavior in competitive environments.
