Authorities discover items of Chance Englebert with skeletal remains in Nebraska

Authorities in Nebraska are investigating skeletal remains found on the Scotts Bluff National Monument property. These remains might be linked to Chance Englebert, a man from Wyoming who disappeared on July 6, 2019.
Discovery of Englebert’s Belongings
The family of Chance Englebert has confirmed that belongings discovered during searches at the site are his. This confirmation has intensified the focus on the investigation into his disappearance.

The Gering Police Department, alongside various other agencies, remains committed to solving this case. Multiple local and federal agencies are continuing the investigation actively.
Forensic Examination
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office in Omaha is collaborating with experts to conduct a forensic examination of the skeletal remains. This includes analysis of dental records, DNA samples, and other scientific evaluations. The examination will be facilitated by a Forensic Pathologist and scientists from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Although not yet scheduled, the examination is expected to proceed shortly.
The authorities have stated that a positive identification of the deceased cannot be made until the forensic examination results are confirmed.
