The Events Leading to the Tragic Shooting
After relocating to a rental property in Ocala, Lorincz, 58, frequently called law enforcement to complain about local children. She claimed they were loud and trespassing. These calls prompted officers to respond, with their body cameras capturing much of the footage featured in the 98-minute documentary.
Despite her claims of being “the perfect neighbor,” Lorincz exhibited concerning behavior. She reportedly used a racial slur in reference to the neighborhood children, including Owens’ children, who were Black. On the day of the shooting, Owens’ son, Israel, went to retrieve a tablet from Lorincz’s home. After a heated exchange, he called his mother for assistance. Lorincz then called 911 after shooting Owens through her front door with a .380-caliber firearm, claiming she felt threatened.

Upon her arrest, Lorincz displayed erratic behavior and resisted law enforcement. During questioning, she was informed of the manslaughter charge against her, which she struggled to comprehend. “I don’t care, kill me,” she responded during her arrest. Eventually, she was taken into custody.
