Bali Boosts Tourist Safety with New 24-Hour Assistance Posts

Bali is taking significant steps to enhance safety for tourists with the introduction of a 24-hour integrated safety and service system. This initiative was unveiled during a Coordination Meeting on Tourist and Foreigner Protection in Denpasar on October 9, where Governor Wayan Koster emphasized the importance of a secure environment for visitors.
Bali’s New 24-Hour Tourist Assistance Posts
The plan involves establishing 24-hour assistance posts in prime locations, including beaches, mountains, and cultural sites across the island. Governor Koster stated, “We must have a system that guarantees both safety and comfort for tourists wherever they go in Bali.” He also highlighted the need for an integrated approach to managing hotels, transport routes, and other tourist services.
Integrated Emergency Response System
This new system will link emergency services, police, hospitals, disaster agencies, and tourism offices through a unified digital platform. This connectivity aims for swift and effective responses to any situation that may arise. Koster noted that successful implementation of this system would bolster Bali’s reputation as a safe travel destination.
Tourism Statistics and Challenges
According to I Wayan Sumarajaya, head of the Bali Tourism Office, the island is expected to welcome around 5.6 million foreign visitors by September 2025. The leading markets include:
- Australia
- China
- India
- The United Kingdom
Authorities are working to maintain a balance between tourism protection and law enforcement for foreigners. Sumarajaya reported notable statistics for this year, including:
- 1,185 immigration actions
- 406 deportations
- 144 instances of foreigners as victims of accidents or violence
Enhancements in Safety Measures
To further strengthen tourist safety, the government plans to install real-time weather monitoring systems at key attractions. Additionally, they will collaborate with insurance providers and health facilities to ensure comprehensive support for visitors.
Future Vision for Bali’s Tourism
These actions align with a forthcoming Regional Regulation on Quality Tourism Management. The goal is to promote a safe, sustainable, and world-class tourism environment in Bali. Governor Koster believes that if these initiatives succeed, Bali will earn greater respect and trust from international travelers.
