Duchess of Gloucester Makes Stylish Appearance at 79 During Bermuda Visit

The Duchess of Gloucester, Birgitte, has recently arrived in Bermuda for a four-day visit. This marks her fourth official trip to the island, with the last one occurring in 2015.
Duchess of Gloucester’s Bermuda Visit
Birgitte is the wife of Prince Richard, a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Upon her arrival at LF Wade International Airport, she was greeted by Governor and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Mr. Andrew Murdoch.
Stylish Appearance
During her visit, the Duchess showcased a stylish appearance. She wore a white blazer paired with a brown striped shirt and matching linen trousers. Her choice of beige suede trainers added a casual touch to her outfit.
Agenda for the Visit
The Duchess’s itinerary includes several significant events:
- Participation in the parade for the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s 60th anniversary as their Colonel-in-Chief.
- Attendance at a church service at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity.
- Visits to various institutions including the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy, HOME for Families, and the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.
- Engagement at Masterworks Museum of Art, where she serves as a patron.
A Solo Engagement
Birgitte is undertaking this trip solo. She has been married to Prince Richard since 1972. Together, they carry out numerous royal duties and have three children, including Alexander Windsor, Earl of Ulster, and Lady Davina Windsor. The couple is also proud grandparents to six grandchildren.
Background on Prince Richard
Before assuming his royal title, Richard worked as an architect. The tragic death of his elder brother, Prince William, in 1972 changed his path, placing him directly in line for the Dukedom after their father’s death. In 1974, he was named the Duke of Gloucester.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester remain active members of the royal family, participating in important events such as Commonwealth Day services and state visits.
