Chicago Bulls Add Rising Star Mac McClung to Roster

The Chicago Bulls have welcomed Mac McClung to their roster. This move was confirmed by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. McClung, aged 26, is well-known for his dominance in NBA slam dunk contests, winning three times in recent years.
Limited NBA Experience
Despite his rising fame, McClung’s playtime in the NBA has been limited. He has appeared in just six regular season games across four teams from 2021 to 2025. Last season, he was on a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic, where he played only 10 minutes over two games.
G League Success
McClung has excelled in the G League. He was named MVP in the 2023/24 season and secured a spot on the All-NBAGL first team in 2024/25. Last season, he played 44 games for the Osceola Magic, achieving averages of:
- 23.0 points
- 5.4 assists
- 3.9 rebounds
- 32.4 minutes per game
His shooting efficiency stood at 48.1% overall, 34.4% from three-point range, and 82.8% from the free-throw line.
Potential Bulls Plans
The Bulls currently have a full roster of 15 guaranteed contracts and three two-way deals. This may leave no immediate spot for McClung in their regular lineup. However, if they intend for him to join their G League team, the Windy City Bulls would need to acquire his returning rights from Osceola.
Contract Considerations
Should McClung sign an Exhibit 10 contract, he could earn a bonus up to $85,300. This bonus would apply if he spends at least 60 days with the Windy City team.
This acquisition adds potential depth and future capabilities to the Bulls’ roster as they gear up for the upcoming season.
