Bulls Secure Interesting New Talent Just Ahead of Regular Season Tip-Off

The Chicago Bulls have signed point guard Mac McClung, a past G League MVP and three-time Slam Dunk Contest winner, just before the NBA season begins. Although contract details are undisclosed, McClung, currently 26 years old, is expected to start with Chicago’s G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls in Hoffman Estates.
Impressive G League Record
Last season, McClung showcased his talents with the Osceola Magic, averaging 25.77 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. His shooting efficiency was notable, posting .512/.378/.827 in scoring splits. These achievements earned him a spot on the All-NBA G League First Team.
Bulls’ Roster Dynamics
Currently, the Bulls’ roster is full, with all standard slots and two-way contracts occupied. As a result, McClung may initially compete for a two-way contract but is expected to begin under an affiliate contract. If it’s an Exhibit 10 deal, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 given a 60-day stay in the G League.
McClung’s NBA Experience
Despite his G League success, McClung has played only six NBA games across multiple teams, including the Lakers, 76ers, and Magic. His NBA stats include an average of 5.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 12.7 minutes per game. This signing represents another shot for McClung to establish himself in the NBA.
Slam Dunk Contest Legacy
McClung is notable for his contributions to the Slam Dunk Contest, being only the second player to win three titles, a record shared with former Bulls player Nate Robinson.
As the NBA season approaches, Emegypt will continue to provide updates on McClung’s journey and the Bulls’ roster developments.
