Kylie Rogers, CEO of the Victoria Racing Club, expressed her enthusiasm, stating that the tour helps share the excitement of the Melbourne Cup with diverse audiences.
Touring History
The cup’s journey began in New York City in June. Since its launch, it has traveled thousands of kilometers across urban and rural areas in Australia, culminating in the much-anticipated race on Tuesday, November 4.
Local Engagement and Activities
Ballarat Turf Club’s CEO, Peter Downs, highlighted the significance of the cup to the community. He stated, “It’s a privilege to celebrate its legacy through school visits and a unique charity fundraiser.” The event will include auctioning shares in racehorses to raise funds for a local cause.
Racing Legends Join the Fun
- Michelle Payne, 2015 Melbourne Cup winner, will accompany the cup during the tour.
- 2016 winner Almandin will also make an appearance.
