Fairfax County Schools Refute Claims of Social Worker Involvement in Student Abortions Funding

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has refuted allegations made by a Centreville High School teacher regarding a social worker’s involvement in facilitating student abortions. This claim was deemed unfounded following an internal investigation initiated after it was made public in August.
School’s Investigation Uncovers Fabrication
According to FCPS, the allegations appear to be retaliatory. The teacher reportedly fabricated the accusations against the social worker after facing disciplinary measures for a separate incident. In 2022, the teacher was involved in providing a student with a pregnancy test, violating school policy. This led to questions about the teacher’s professional conduct.
The investigation found no evidence supporting the teacher’s claims that the social worker facilitated abortions since 2021. The accusations also included claims that former Centreville High School Principal Chad Lehman had knowledge of and concealed these incidents, which were also found to be baseless.
- The accusations initially arose in 2022.
- The teacher allegedly coerced a student for supporting evidence.
- FCPS concluded that the social worker’s involvement claims were a fabrication.
External Inquiries and Legal Representation
The controversy garnered attention beyond local levels. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin ordered a state police investigation, and U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, along with the Department of Education, sought additional information.
Simultaneously, Americans United for Life, a pro-life organization supporting the teacher, criticized FCPS’s investigation as superficial. They plan to provide a detailed rebuttal to federal inquiries.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigations
While the FCPS investigation continues, the school district has communicated its initial findings to federal bodies by the October 17 deadline. The teacher remains employed, and both the social worker and Lehman have been placed on administrative leave.
The school board asserts that political motivations and timing are influencing the resurfacing of these accusations. Despite the public dispute, FCPS maintains confidence in their findings and awaits further responses from involved parties.
