How AT&T Customers Can Claim Their Share of the $177 Million Data Breach Settlement

Former and current AT&T customers might be entitled to claim compensation from a $177 million settlement following data breaches in 2024. AT&T agreed to this settlement in August after data leaks in March and July affected millions of account holders.

March 2024 Cyberattack
In March 2024, hackers exposed information of 73 million AT&T customers, including Social Security numbers. This attack led to a settlement fund of $149 million. Affected individuals can claim up to $5,000 for documented financial losses.
July 2024 Data Breach
Another breach in July resulted in a $28 million settlement. Claims of up to $2,500 can be made for losses occurring on or after April 14, 2024.
Eligibility and Claim Process
Two classes of affected customers can file claims: those impacted in March and July. Individuals impacted by both incidents must submit separate claims.
The deadline to file a claim is December 18. Customers can fill out an online form or send a completed form via mail, postmarked by this date.

Final Settlement Hearing
Approval of the settlement awaits the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, scheduled for January 15, 2026. Payouts will commence after court approval and the expiration of any appeal periods.
