Baggies Fan Guide for Attending Preston North End Match

The upcoming fixture between the Baggies and Preston North End will highlight the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign. Albion supports this initiative, which emphasizes that football is for everyone and fosters an inclusive environment at The Hawthorns.
EFL Together Against Racism Campaign Overview
In the past season, EFL matches saw 141 documented incidents of racist abuse. Additionally, over 5,000 incidents of online abuse occurred, suggesting many more went unreported. To combat online harassment, the EFL utilizes Athletia, a system that monitors social media content pertaining to players and officials.
Collaboration for Change
The EFL is actively collaborating with social media platforms and the Football Policing Unit. Their goal is to identify and sanction individuals responsible for racist behavior. The message is clear: racism has no place in football.
- Engaging in racist abuse can result in:
- Up to five years in prison
- Ten-year stadium bans
Last season, 17 fans received bans from their respective clubs, while 24 individuals faced police action due to racist incidents at EFL games. Numerous other cases are still under investigation or referred for restorative justice.

Albion aims to reflect the diverse communities they represent through their actions against racism. The club stands united with players, managers, supporters, and the EFL in this critical campaign. The motto is: One Club. One Community. Together Against Racism.
