The blaze erupted around 2:15 a.m., reportedly due to a short circuit. According to Anil Gupta, the station house officer of Juni Indore police station, there were significant quantities of foam and sponge stored in the home. These materials fueled the fire and contributed to the rapid spread of flames.
Impact on Residents
The family resided on the rear side of the house, while scrap materials occupied the front. Smoke quickly filled the narrow residence, creating a dangerous environment with only one entrance for escape. Six family members living on the first floor lost consciousness from suffocation, though none sustained burns.
