Cork Hurling Finals at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh Postponed Amid Weather Alert

The Cork County Board has postponed the hurling finals scheduled for Saturday at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh due to an orange weather warning. The decision was made less than two hours before the start time, citing safety concerns for attendees amid heavy rainfall.
Cork Hurling Finals Rescheduled
Originally, the matches included Aghabullogue vs. Bandon for the Intermediate A title and Bride Rovers against Castlelyons at the Senior A level. Both games had their throw-in times adjusted in an effort to accommodate the double-header format.
New Schedule for Hurling Finals
The postponed finals will now take place next weekend, with a new schedule as follows:
- Saturday, October 25th:
- 3:00 PM: Premier Junior Football Final – Buttevant vs. St. Nick’s
- 5:00 PM: Intermediate A Hurling Final – Aghabullogue vs. Bandon
- 7:00 PM: Senior A Hurling Final – Bride Rovers vs. Castlelyons
Additionally, there will be a hurling double-header on Sunday, featuring:
- 1:15 PM: Premier Intermediate Hurling – Ballinhassig vs. Ballincollig
- 3:15 PM: Premier Senior Hurling – Sarsfields vs. Midleton, broadcasted live on RTE 2.
Unlike the postponed Intermediate A and Senior A finals, the winners of Sunday’s matches will enter the Munster campaign happening next month. Due to the aftereffects of replays and the tight GAA calendar, rescheduling opportunities for the finals were limited.
The weekend in Páirc Uí Chaoimh began with a thrilling match on Friday, where Glen Rovers faced Kilbrittain in the Premier Junior level, with Kilbrittain emerging victorious.
