Increasing Recognition and Diplomatic Efforts
Akakpo noted the growing international endorsement of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces. He highlighted the establishment of various consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla by countries from different continents, including Togo. Akakpo expressed worry about the humanitarian conditions in the Tindouf camps in Algeria. He urged for transparent mechanisms to ensure the rights of camp residents and regular humanitarian access. Furthermore, he praised Morocco’s adherence to the ceasefire and its collaboration with the UN peacekeeping mission, MINURSO.
