Mack Hansen sidelined for crucial New Zealand match in Chicago
Irish winger Mack Hansen has been ruled out of Ireland’s upcoming match against New Zealand due to a foot injury. His injury occurred during Connacht’s narrow 28-27 defeat to the Bulls on Friday. Hansen sustained the injury while scoring a last-minute try in Galway.
Injury Updates on Key Players
Alongside Hansen, centres Bundee Aki and Robbie Henshaw are facing injury assessments. Aki is dealing with a hip issue, while Henshaw has a groin concern. Both players featured for Connacht and Leinster over the weekend and are set to travel with the squad on Tuesday.
Upcoming Matches
Ireland will play New Zealand at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday, November 1st, with kick-off scheduled for 8:10 PM Irish time. They will also compete in a series of Tests following the match against the All Blacks:
- Japan – November 8th
- Australia – November 15th
- South Africa – November 22nd
All these matches will take place at the Aviva Stadium.
Additional Player Concerns
In addition to Hansen’s omission, Edwin Edogdo and Brian Gleeson have also been ruled out of the traveling squad due to injury. Both players were involved in Munster’s 31-14 victory over Leinster. To address these setbacks, Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has called up replacements for the injured players:
- Tom Farrell from Munster
- Jimmy O’Brien from Leinster
Both Farrell and O’Brien participated in the recent match at Croke Park and will join the squad in preparation for the challenging fixtures ahead.
