Hydro-Québec Outages Leave Nearly 10,000 Homes Without Power
Over the weekend, strong winds caused significant power outages across parts of Quebec, impacting nearly 10,000 homes. Hydro-Québec reported that around 9,926 customers were without electricity during the night from Sunday to Monday.
Areas Affected by Hydro-Québec Outages
The outages primarily affected regions such as Outaouais, Montérégie, Mauricie, and Estrie. A breakdown of the affected areas is as follows:
- Outaouais: Over 3,100 homes lost power.
- Montérégie: More than 2,650 families experienced outages.
- Mauricie: Approximately 1,900 households were impacted due to multiple disruptions.
- Estrie: More than 1,000 homes were awaiting power restoration.
- Montréal: Over 800 families faced similar power issues.
- Other affected regions: Households in the Laurentides, Lanaudière, Laval, and Centre-du-Québec also experienced outages.

Hydro-Québec teams were deployed to assess the situation and restore electricity to affected homes as quickly as possible. Though crews were actively involved in repair efforts, many families remained without power.
