Why West Ham Fans Are Outraged: Unveiling the Protests Against Owner David Sullivan

West Ham United supporters are voicing their frustrations with club ownership through organized protests. Led by the group Hammers United, fans are calling for the resignations of co-owners David Sullivan and Karren Brady. As the intensity of their discontent grows, additional protests are planned during upcoming matches.

The Upcoming Protest Against David Sullivan and Karren Brady

On October 20, 2025, fans are expected to protest during West Ham’s Premier League match against Brentford. Hammers United is encouraging supporters to boycott the game as part of their “No More BS” campaign aimed at pushing for changes in club leadership.

Background of the Protests

Previously, Hammers United organized demonstrations before key matches, including:

  • A protest at the Crystal Palace match, where supporters marched to the directors’ entrance.
  • A display featuring black balloons and flags during the loss against Arsenal.

As part of their continued effort, the group has planned further activities, including a sit-in after the Newcastle match on November 2 and another march against Burnley on November 8.

Fan Petition and Support for New Management

Hammers United is voicing its demands by presenting a petition with over 15,000 verified signatures, urging the departures of Sullivan and Brady. In a letter to new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, the supporter group emphasized their support for him and his coaching staff while reiterating their discontent with the current board.

In his pre-match press conference, Espirito Santo highlighted the importance of the protests, saying they reflect the current state of the club. With West Ham sitting at 19th in the Premier League table and merely three points away from the relegation zone, he stressed the necessity of uniting fans to support the team.

Despite the ongoing frustrations, the club’s new manager aims to help steer the team back on track, hoping that fan engagement will increase as performances improve on the pitch.
