Scotto Reveals Latest Updates on Braun Daniels Coffey T. Smith and Napier

Recent updates in the NBA reflect ongoing contract negotiations and coaching changes that could impact several teams as deadlines approach.
Christian Braun’s Potential Extension with the Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are cautiously optimistic about finalizing a rookie scale extension for Christian Braun. Reports suggest negotiations are centered around a five-year deal worth between $115 million and $125 million. The deadline for this agreement is set for 5:00 PM Central Time.
During his first two seasons with the Nuggets, Braun proved to be a significant contributor off the bench. After Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s departure, he stepped into a starting role last season. Braun achieved career-high averages of 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 79 games, showcasing efficiency with shooting splits of .580/.397/.827.
Despite earlier doubts about reaching an agreement before the deadline, recent reports indicate that progress has been made. Sources suggest that Braun’s camp is engaged in productive discussions with the team.
Dyson Daniels and Atlanta Hawks Negotiations
Meanwhile, negotiations between the Atlanta Hawks and Dyson Daniels remain at an impasse. Daniels and his agent seek a five-year extension valued at $150 million, while the Hawks have countered with an offer closer to $115 million.
In his rookie season, Daniels earned First Team All-Defensive honors, leading the league in steals and receiving the title of Most Improved Player. Despite his accomplishments, the Hawks added two notable free agents, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard, which may affect Daniels’ playtime moving forward.
Amir Coffey and the Milwaukee Bucks
In Milwaukee, Coach Doc Rivers is advocating for Amir Coffey, previously with the Clippers, to secure a roster position. Coffey, standing 6’7”, showcased impressive shooting last season, hitting 40.9% from beyond the arc.
Currently, Milwaukee must finalize one last roster spot, with Tyler Smith and Andre Jackson Jr. competing. Reports indicate that the team is exploring trade options for Smith, a second-round draft pick in 2024, who played in 33 games last season. If a trade is not achieved by the deadline, Smith may be waived.
Shabazz Napier Joins the Washington Wizards
Former NBA player Shabazz Napier has joined the Washington Wizards as a coaching apprentice. Last season, Napier played for Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague, displaying his versatility on an international scale.
